Description

It would be useful if the browser driven by Selenium had Firebug available to aid debugging when something goes wrong. AFAIK Selenium can manipulate the Firefox profile (and e. g. install extensions), so this might be possible.

My recollection was mistaken: Selenium does not provide profile manipulation capabilities via the RC.

A workaround is to create a separate FF profile, install Firebug into it, and then start your selenium server with the additional argument -firefoxProfileTemplate /path/to/profile. Selenium will then make a copy of the given profile and modify it for its use; Firebug will be available that way. (The only minor annoyance is that it will show a "new add-ons have been installed" dialog each selenium test run, to notify you about the modifications Selenium has done)
